PocketDAW v0.4.4 — Audio Pipeline Hardening + Recorder Plugin
PocketDAW v0.4.4 — Audio Pipeline Hardening + Recorder Plugin
We are excited to release v0.4.4, a major stability update packed with audio pipeline improvements and a powerful new Recorder plugin.
New: Recorder Plugin
The Recorder plugin is now built-in, allowing you to:
- Capture audio input directly into PocketDAW
- Process in real-time through your entire effect chain (reverb, delay, pitch shift, EQ, and more)
- Low-latency performance optimized for the RG35XX handheld
- Full gain control, looping, and visualization
Perfect for sampling field recordings, vocal chops, live instruments, or anything else you want to shape with effects.
Audio Pipeline Hardening
We have invested heavily in stability and performance:
- FTZ+DAZ denormal protection added to all audio callbacks — eliminates CPU spikes from denormal floats in long reverb/delay tails
- Monitor path clock jitter bridge — holds last sample instead of zero-filling on clock drift (fixes crackling on monitor)
- Capture device rate-locked to output sample rate — fixes monitor clicking when input/output rates diverged
- Post-FX soft-clipping on preview, playback, and monitor paths — no more digital overs
- Plugin buffer improvements — smoother DSP performance under load
Fixes
- Fixed Pitcher playback: synced samples to RT instance for pattern preview
- Fixed Windows absolute path detection and sample load debug logging
- Fixed FX text bleed-through on all overlays
- Resolved plugin initialization race conditions
- Improved MIDI routing stability
